Vita
Maike Bouschen, born in 1991 in Düsseldorf, grew up in the Rhineland and studied directing for drama and opera at the Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding in Munich from 2013 to 2018 under Sebastian Baumgarten. During her studies, she gained international experience in Brazil, working among others with the collective Teatro da Vertigem in São Paulo, as well as for the international festival Porto Alegre em Cena, and at the music school Escola de Música da Rocinha in Rio de Janeiro. From 2014 to 2018, she was a scholarship holder of the Bischöfliche Studienförderung Cusanuswerk.
Her production JIHAD BABY at Landestheater Coburg was invited to the KAAS & KAPPES Children’s and Youth Theatre Festival in Duisburg in 2017. In 2023, Bouschen received the directing award from Theater der Altmark (Stendal) for FRAU ADA DENKT UNERHÖRTES. Her productions have also been featured at the Bavarian Theatre Days, including DIE BIENE IM KOPF at Theater Pfütze (Nuremberg) in 2024, and JUGEND OHNE GOTT at Landestheater Coburg in 2020 in the “Classics for Today” category.
Since 2017, Maike Bouschen has directed productions at Theater Oberhausen, Theater Lübeck, Landestheater Tübingen, Theater Konstanz, Landestheater Schwaben, Theater der Altmark, Theater Pfütze, and Landestheater Coburg, among others.
Maike Bouschen lives in Belgium and in Germany.
