Roland Schimmelpfennig's play for children and adults is a story about the power and the risk of imagination.
Invited to the 39th Bavarian Theatre Days, taking place from May 29 to June 16, 2024, in Ingolstadt.
Using a sound playground created by Paul Bießmann, three performers conjure the fantastical world of a child left entirely to their own devices. Everyday obstacles are tackled level by level, much like in a video game. Luckily, there’s the “bee in the head,” turning the challenges of reality into a playful adventure.
Delicate, witty, and highly inventive, the production strikes a perfect balance between poetry and the real-world struggles of childhood. As Karin von Matuschka (Nürnberger Nachrichten) writes, it is “a clever and enriching piece about life, perfectly suited for Die Pfütze.”
